Meridian J-24 5
The Meridian J-24 5 is a beautiful and originally designed and conceived bass guitar, entirely hand made by master luthier Davide Cardone in Avezzano, Italy.
This bass is a super J type bass but really has a personality all of it own in terms of overall style and general vibe. Yes, you can get all those passive single coil J type sounds from it if you wish, but of course there is so much more to this bass than just that. The different tone options are quite mind boggling and with the ability to switch each of the superb Delano Times Square pickups individually into a series/parrallel/single coil state, gives you access to pretty much any kind of tone combination you might want, allowing for a truly versatile instrument either on stage or in the studio, where is really does shine with it’s incredibly quiet John East active/passive electronics and many tone shaping options.
The neck has a lovely slim to medium profile with a super fast action and the action itself based on the superb hand crafted nature of the instrument, can be set to however you want with minute perfection for the most discerning of players. Every part of the bass can be setup to be exactly how you wish.
The unique style and beauty of these Meridian J-24 basses is also not just for arts sake, they are so ergonomic to hold and play too, taking the whole experience to another level entirely. Yes you can see that it nods to a certain legendary style of bass but this is certainly no clone, it’s a super high precision hand crafted piece of art that really could be that ‘one bass does all’ answer to your prayers in terms of covering traditional J and P tones through to more modern Hi-Fi audio, with slap, finger, pick and harmonics.
