Anaconda Apex AXE5 (Aquaburst)
A really special one of a kind bass from Anaconda Basses, hand made in London. This is one of the ‘Elite’ series of Anaconda basses which is fully hand crafted by Anaconda basses owner, Andrew Taylor Cummings.

Featuring an array of bespoke custom features this bass starts with a one off original shape and design, so immediately making a statement that it’s not ‘trying to be something else’, it’s a totally original instrument in terms of shape, design and overall features.
The actual finish on the Apex AXE5 basses is really something special and this beautiful Aquaburst bass is certainly no exception, the gloss finish Black Limba body is really something to behold and really is something beautiful. The electronics are completely unique too and of Anaconda’s own design. Featuring an AC3-TZ Active 3 band preamp and Anaconda’s own elegantly designed Anaconda AC5SB-TNT Dual-coil pickup system, the bass offers multiple switching and coil selection possibilities including front coil, series and rear coil on both neck and bridge pickups. The scale is 34.5″ so a little longer than standard but without going to full 35″, so offering a slightly different feel to players that prefer the feel of a slightly longer scale length but don’t like a full 35″ scale. A perfect compromise. This bass also has a really spectacular flame maple fingerboard.
Our thoughts…
A really powerful bass in terms of feel and tone. This bass has a really modern feel to it but can still produce authentic single coil tones along with active modern humbucking hi-fi tones at the flick of a switch or two. For players who like a modern feeling instrument at a slightly longer scale than the standard 34″ and favour really monster tone, this bass will deliver across the board. If truly hand made quality is what you desire, then this bass will certainly be of interest as well as the level of craftsmanship on display will rival anything out there without question. The feel of a truly hand made bass for many is what really makes them so special, the care and attention that the luthier has invested in an individual instrument build is there for all time and can be appreciated each and every time the instrument is picked up. For live, studio and any musical situation, the Anaconda Apex AXE5 will always look good on you and have you covered for any eventuality.
